AUTOIMMUNE DISORDERS - MUSCULOSKELETAL CONDITIONS - MICROBIAL INFECTIONS - INFLAMMATION
Curcumin contains a highly purified source of curcumin from Curcuma longa using BioSOLVE technology. In addition, no chemical lubricants are used in the encapsulation process and this product contains no diluents, preservatives or binders, thus insuring maximal tolerance and absorption. Curcumin plays a crucial role in resolving issues such as autoimmune disorders, musculoskeletal conditions, microbial infections and inflammation.

Chronic musculoskeletal pain has biological, psychological, and social components. In this article, we have demonstrated the easily injectable nanocomposite carrier for the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain. Briefly, the curcumin (Cur) loaded with lipid nano capsules (LNCs; Cur@LNCs) using the phase invasion method.

Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) is a well established experimental auto-immune mediated polyarthritis in susceptible strains of rodents.

We demonstrate here that out of three compounds, viz diferuloylmethane, p-coumaroylferuloylmethane and di-p-coumaroylmethane, present in the ethyl acetate extract of Curcuma longa, diferuloylmethane is most potent in inhibiting TNF-a induced expression of ICAM-1, VCAM-1 and E-selectin on human umbilical vein endothelial cells.

Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs), such as the p38 and the cJun N-terminal kinase (JNK) modulate the transcription of many genes involved in the inflammatory process. Curcumin is a polyphenol derived from Curcuma longa, which is known to have anti-inflammatory activity.

Here, we compared the anti-inflammatory/anti-oxidant activity of these two plants in rat adjuvant-induced arthritis (AIA).
